Calderon and the Raps are looking to make Chad Ford and John Hollinger look bad in 2009-10
I have the Raptors winning 45-50 games and finishing fourth or fifth in the East this season, but don’t put too much stock in that. After all, I predicted the same thing last season and we all know how that turned out (if you blocked it from your memory, they finished 33-49). Plus, I’m seriously second-guessing my prediction after the way they played in the preseason. Anyway, here’s how ESPN’s “experts” (I use quotations because I’m hoping some will be proven wrong) weighed in for the team’s season preview:
J.A. Adande: 2nd in Atlantic, 8th in Eastern Conference
Jon Barry (of Sacramento Kings bench crew fame): 2nd, 7th
Chris Broussard: 3rd, 7th
Chad Ford: 2nd, 10th (Pfft…what an idiot)
Jemele Hill: 2nd, 5th (more like it)
John Hollinger: 3rd, 10th
Raptor legend Jalen Rose: 2nd, 8th
Chris Sheridan: 2nd, 4th
Marc Stein: 2nd, 6th
David Thorpe: 3rd, 8th
Full analysis can be found here. For the record, that’s eight of 10 for the playoffs — I’ll take it!
