Don’t think it can get any better than the Red Sox getting swept from the playoffs? Well, how about that AND the Patriots losing? Kyle Orton and the Cinderella Broncos took care of the second half of the deal, knocking off the Pats 20-17 tonight in overtime.

Orton completed a career high 35 passes for 334 yards, including a pair of 11-yard touchdown strikes to Brandon Marshall. Marshall’s second score came with less than six minutes remaining and forced overtime, where a Matt Prater field goal was the difference.

Elsewhere, in the possible Game of the Year, Cleveland starter Derek Anderson completed 2-of-17 passes for 23 yards to lead the Browns to a 6-3 win over the Bills. Yep, that’s not a typo — two competions for 23 yards and a win. Cleveland recovered a Roscoe Parrish fumble deep in Buffalo territory to set up an 18-yard Billy Cundiff field goal to win it in the last minute. Terrell Owens, by the way, caught four balls for 44 yards.

Other scores from around the NFL: Pittsburgh 28, Detroit 20; Dallas 26, Kansas City 20 (OT); Minnesota 38, Worst Team Ever (aside from the Bills and Browns) 10; NY Giants 44, Oakland 7; Philly 33, Tampa Bay 14; Carolina 20, Washington 17; Cincinnati! 17, Baltimore 14; Atlanta 45, San Francisco 10; Seattle 41, Jacksonville 0; Arizona 28, Houston 21.
