Johnny Mac, stealing Tommy Tippytoes' thunder
First off, I’m gonna be alright. If you caught the highlights of last night’s Jays-Twins game on SportsCentre, you may have noticed me — I was the security guard took a Vernon Wells foul ball that deflected off a seat and a fan’s glove in the shoulder (not the head, as Darren Dutschysyn would have you believe). I make this especially clear, though: I was NOT the guard that boneheadedly picked up Justin Morneau’s first inning double — that honour goes to the infamous Tommy Tippytoes. Keep up the great work!
Luckily, Tommy’s blunder didn’t end up hurting the Jays, who used a six-run sixth inning to beat the Twins 6-3. John McDonald hit a two-out, three-run homer into the newly-christened “Big Mac Land” just to the fair side of the left field foul pole and Ricky Romero cruised after a slow start to pick up his 12th win. Jesse Carlson, Scotty Downs and Jason Frasor help close out Toronto’s 10th win in their last 12 home games against Minnesota.
Doc Halladay faces Carl “buttocks injury” Pavano in the third of the four-game set tonight. As for Tommy Tippytoes, well…he’ll be a gametime decision.
you are a very cruel man…………
