Looks like I, and the rest of the media, jumped the gun a little. Turns out Pacman Jones is not headed north after all, as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced last night they’re not pursuing the troubled cornerback after investigating his past. Had they really no idea he was a criminal?
League sources reported Monday that Jones had agreed in principle to a one-year contract with Winnipeg, but the team withheld comment on the deal until announcing it was off yesterday. Apparently Pacman went online to discuss his potenital signing Tuesday in a 44-minute video on ustream.tv and mistakenly said he was headed to the UFL, before correcting himself and confirming it was the CFL. He then went on to say he’s good for two touchdowns each game and that he’d dominate the league.
