Adam Lind, loving Arlington
18-10. I’m not even going to try analyzing this one. In case, like me, you missed the game, the Jays jumped out to an 11-0 lead on the strength of an Adam Lind grand slam, then coughed up 10 straight runs to cut the lead one, then scored seven more in the top of the ninth. All this after being shutout in Boston Sunday afternoon.
Lind added a solo homer and a bases loaded double in the ninth to finish with eight RBIs — one shy of the team record. In four games in Arlington this season, Lind is 8-for-17 with four homers and 14 RBIs, and now has 27 and 89 on the season altogether. Pretty, pretty, pretty good. Rod Barajas also had a pair of homers and five RBIs for the Jays, and Johnny Mac chipped in with three of Toronto’s 14 hits.
More good news for Lind — the Jays and Rangers play a doubleheader today, with Mark Rzepczynski and Dustin Nippert taking the hill in the opener and Brian Tallet and Brandon McCarthy battling in the nightcap.
