Halladay has the ball tonight
The Rays are in town and Matt Garza isn’t scheduled to pitch. Maybe — just maybe — life isn’t that bad for Blue Jays fans. Roy Halladay gets the ball in the opener tonight against Jeff Niemann, who may be Ricky Romero’s main challenger for the AL Rookie of the Year Award. Niemann, who shut the Jays down in June but lost at Rogers Centre last month, enters at 11-5 with with a 3.71 ERA, compared to Romero’s 11-5 and 3.91. I wouldn’t be a true homer if I didn’t say Romero is doing considerably better.
Speaking of rookies, how about Travis Snider busting out to the tune of 3-for-3 with a homer yesterday? If the season extends through December and he keeps mashing like that, he might be in line for the hardware. Then again, if this season lasted that long, I’d likely smash my head through a wall.

Oh yeah, it’s getting ugly. I don’t think I’ve seen Halladay get shelled like that in back-to-back starts in 10 years.

And BOOM….Pena kills us on 2 pitches. These guys love playing at RC. I bet we are 30 back by the end of the year. Shut down everone and bring em up from “A” ball.
Keep Ruiz though….LOL
