At least one Argo can take something from last Friday’s collapse against B.C. — Justin Medlock, who tied a team-record with seven field goals in the game, was named CFL Special Teams Player of the Week yesterday. Medlock, who has made 17-of-18 attempts this season, converted kicks of 15, 46, 51, 51, 32, 52 and 17 yards in Toronto’s 36-28 loss Friday.
“Bittersweet,” Medlock said after the loss. “We’re just out here to win. We made some improvements and did some good things. We just need to close out.”
Medlock, a UCLA product, tied the team mark established by Lance Chomyc (who actually converted seven twice in the span of 15 days in 1988) and Noel Prefontaine. A first-year Argo, Medlock took over the kicking and punting duties after Eddie Johnson went down in the opener against Hamilton.
