Cover boys
The day has arrived: Madden 10 is now available in stores. EA Sports released the newest edition of the greatest thing to ever happen to sports gaming today. For the first time ever, two players are on the front cover — Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald and Pittsburgh’s Troy Polamula, both of whom you may remember from a highly-entertaining game played in early-February. Now that the pair are Madden cover boys, expect their careers to go down the toilet. My prediction: Both fall victim to the dreaded “hair tackle” and are forced to cut their dreads, which subsequently costs them the super powers that helped lead their teams to the Super Bowl in 2009. Sorry, Arizona and Pittsburgh fans.
Fortunately, I’ve never fallen victim to the Madden jinx myself, despite having spent years of my life playing the game. I’m still undecided on which team I’ll lead to multiple Super Bowls in franchise mode this year, though I’ll be using the same criteria as usual when choosing — a bad team with a young quarterback, preferably in a cold weather climate with an outdoor stadium.
Anyway, one thing is certain — today is a great day. If you’re a boss and you’re wondering why half your employees called in sick, look no further for the reason. Just take it easy on the guys…
