Kenyon Martin is a thug and/or a punk, and Mark Cuban wants the world to know. Well, actually he just wants Martin’s mom to know — this way maybe she’ll ground him and maybe he’ll come out of it a better person. Apparently Cuban caught up with Martin’s mom right after Denver’s win over his Mavericks on Saturday night and said, “Your son is a punk.” Other reports have him calling Martin a thug.

I’m sure Cuban was just giving Martin’s mom a heads-up the night before Mother’s Day and letting her know what sort of behaviour her son has been up to when she’s not looking. Still, doesn’t Cuban’s team employ fellow thug/punk Josh Howard and notorious wife-beater Jason Kidd? Even little-used backup Shawne Williams has a bit of a history of run-ins. Oh yeah, even Dallas star Dirk Nowitzki is known to keep a crazy woman in his house.

So, Mark Cuban, before you go around reporting opposing players to their moms, you might want to have a word with a few of your own players (or their parents). Oh yeah, and your team is down 3-0. Good luck!
