Barajas and Hill, enjoying the good life
Wow, nothing cures a losing skid like a three-game set at home against the Baltimore Orioles. After dropping three of four in Kansas City earlier this week, the Jays have bounced back with a pair of wins over Baltimore — 8-4 last night and 5-4 this afternoon in 11 innings. Today’s walk-off win is already the fourth of the season for Toronto, with Aaron Hill doing the honours this time around with a game-winning, two-out single.
Robert “Baby Burnett” Ray, one of the three pitchers called upon to fill the shoes of the recently demoted trio of David Purcey, Brian Burres and Bryan Bullington, pitched well in his major league debut, going five-and-two-thirds before giving way to Jesse Carlson and The Hawaiian Punchout, who kept the O’s off the board through nine. After Scott Downs gave up a run in the tenth, Hill homered to forced more free baseball.
Here’s what I’ll say about Hill thus far this season: The boy is flat-out mashing, Dustin Pedroia-style, minus the brother that molests kids. For the year, give him a major league-best 43 hits, a .374 average, six homers and 22 RBIs.
Hi, good post. I have been wondering about this topic,so thanks for sharing. I will definitely be coming back to your site.
