A cool, calm and collected Hanley Ramirez
You can say a lot about professional athletes being overpaid prima donnas, and most of it is true. With that said, I still find this to be hilarious: After being forced to cut his hair because of a new Yankees-inspired team policy, Marlins star Hanley Ramirez strapped a piece of tape to his chest yesterday inscribed with the words “I’m sick of this shit” and went around complaining to reporters that he wants to be traded.
“It’s incredible,” Ramirez told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “We’re big leaguers.”
“We want to look professional,” was manager Fredi Gonzalez’s response, likely after again telling Ramirez to cut his sideburns behind closed doors.
Anyway, after briefly raising hell, Ramirez calmed down, saying he was fine and ready to play infront of the 419 fans expected for the Marlins home opener in a couple weeks. No harm, no foul.
