Little Nate Robinson, scoring two of his 119 points
Alright, so it’s looking as though Shawn Marion and the great Marcus Banks aren’t the miracle cure I’d hoped they’d be when the Raptors dealt for them last week. Before last night’s game against the Knicks, the men on Raptors TV went out on a limb and predicted the over/under for the final score to be around 250. What they didn’t predict, though, was that New York would score about 225 of those points. At least that’s where it seemed like things were headed when I switched games in the first quarter.
Okay, okay…So it was Marion’s first game alongside Chris Bosh, so the Raps obviously have some chemistry issues to work out. But getting romped by the Knicks? Come on now. Even with a home-heavy schedule, including a stretch where they play the Bobcats, Clippers, Bucks, Thunder and Bulls consecutively in late-March, it’s going to take a miracle for this team to make the playoffs.
As for The Matrix, he scored 14 points and grabbed 12 boards last night, which is less impressive consider the teams combined to take about 500 shots. Nevertheless, I still like the deal and I’m looking forward to Toronto having the freedom to make a few moves this summer.
